Make a Calendar Event easily from email!

I've been wanting this feature for so long.  Go Google Apps!

And, if you don't know Google Gooru and are using Google Apps - get the newsletter.  The little nuggets of information they send regularly, really help with productivity.  Most of the tutorials are under two minutes - we all have two minutes!

Using VideoNot.es in the Classroom

This is a great new tool to use when you want students to take notes while watching a video.  The notes automatically sync into their Google Drive.

"Make Use Of" Explains VideoNot.es well to.  Is a great add-on for Google Drive. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/learn-how-to-take-notes-while-watching-an-online-video-with-videonot-es/

Digital Bytes

At our school, a core group of techies (a librarian, science teacher, math teacher, and technology teacher) were brainstorming one day and Digital Bytes was born. We all value collaboration, high quality PD, and see the value of using technology in education.

Some days we have a flurry of visitors who stop by and snack and ask questions.  Other days, we explore our own online PLNs and bounce ideas off each other.

Digital Bytes is an open time every Friday, where people can come to the library and enjoy bytes (sometimes savory, mostly sweet) and partake in some collaborative PD.

Here is our Menu for April:

I've been inspired by AISB's Tech Thursday's blogposts which offer tech tutorials to their staff.   I am going to try to get this blog going to post a tutorial each week for our faculty and staff, that they can look at it if it interests them.   In the spirit of "flipping", maybe some of our Digital Bytes time can be used to plan integration using some of these tech tools and skills.
