Our family blog - North Meets South/East Meets West and my classroom blog - Design Technology @ CA.

But, the reason is simple. There are so many amazing technology applications to use in the classroom and I find that many teachers just need to an easy place to check and find resources that work. Resources that I've tried in my classroom or know of people who are using them in their classroom with great results.

Liz Durkin, a mathematics teacher at my school, gave a workshop earlier in the week of the Educational value of Twitter. I haven't joined twitter because I felt like I was publishing enough about my life through blogs and Facebook. And I am, I don't have that many exciting things to publish to the world, or even my family, who has to be interested in my life! However, I opened up a Twitter account this week @julielemley and have found it an invaluable source of information. I haven't really tweeted anything (and I don't really foresee me tweeting tons), but I have found amazing websites and ideas... all in one week! It's a great way to find other teachers with the same interests and many of them trove the internet for new ideas and a lot of them are the ones actually publishing these great ideas and applications that are working in their classrooms.

While I teach Design Technology, which involved materials, I have always used a lot of "ICT" Technology in my classroom, and I continue to do so. So, this blog will be sharing tools and articles that I find are good resources for teachers in the (predominantly middle school) classroom.
